Happy Belated!
I am the absolute WORST when it comes to remembering birthdays. Most of my friends can attest to that. I don't know what it is. You know its bad when you have to rely on myspace and even then it doesn't always keep you in the know. I got birthday reminders on Thursday for two birthdays that were the day before. Miss Amelia and Miss Mary Smack, happy belated!
Damn you myspace!

Its time for our WTF cake of the day!
Roadtrip!!!
Jon and I spotted this gem in Jaffree, NH on our way to Mt. Monadnock on Saturday. I have school that night but am tempted to skip. They pretty much sold me with the jolly drunken cupcake on the sign and that its FREEEEEE.
I literally started clapping with glee when I saw this. Thanks to Jon who didn't make fun of me for making him pull over for the pic.

I feel the music in me... HAHA LAME
Who else would send this cake or possibly even google "musical cakes" than Harlot Fevah?
I actually expect nothing less of a girl with a g-cleft and what not tattooed on her backage. It looks delicious though.. no denying that. The icing is so perfectly smooth it makes me want to put my fist in it.
You know what I mean.
Thanks Feevs!

And this is the house that Maimsey built
This picture is awesome in many ways other than the cake. Just look at that face. And just look how proud her aunt is, of not only her neice's decorating skills, but of her APRON MAKING SKILLS, true foreshadowing of what was to come from this young lady. Her other aunt in the back looks kind of pissed though. Nobody likes a thunder stealer.
Does Behr make that shade of blue? I want it! As Maims put it, "house warming cakes should have houses on them". Indeed.

Time to breathe.
Sorry I made you look at that terrible ass for so long. Work has been busy as hell. Over the weekend I had the pleasure of hosting the league at my house for a retreat & bbq.
I thought it would be there perfect opportunity to make my own sheet cake, though this one wouldn't be ugly, it would be the BEST SHEETCAKE EVAR. Since I've never actually made one i didn't realise how difficult it actually is. My first mistake was using a butter cake recipe, it was so hard to maneuver onto the plate because the delicious buttery film was sticking to things and it was kinda greasy. After i got it where i wanted it on the plate it was kinda broken and horrible looking, so i decided to make a top layer to put on it to cover up the damage. Once I did that i found it pretty damn impossible to get the two layers lined up, so I had to trim around all of the edges to make it look square-ish. Then I got the wrong kind of decorative icing. I was going ot be all fancy and draw a BDD logo (freehand mind you) on it:
A little ambitious? Noooooo.
Oh it was going to be so spectacular in my mind but then i realised i needed decorative tips to put over the tube and i didn't have those and by the time the layers were put together it was pretty late and i was kinda tired and bored so here's what we wound up with:
How appropriate. We learn from our mistakes! I will sheetcake again.

okay almost immediately after i posted this i didna search on "atari cake" and the very first google image was this... in all its glory the 3 PIECE ATARI MASTERPIECE!
It all makes sense! This reminds me of something I would have made a few years back wheni was into makeing cakes into shapes of things in my spare time.

nice!
This cake is pretty cool, except i can't really figure out what the deal is with it. Clearly its a PacMan game which I love but why is it standing on its side like that with the sides all cut off? Maybe its just a huge piece.
And the high score is only 2? Shame. And Why does it have antennae? So many plot holes to this confection tale.
