i learned that pumpkin pie batter is almost better than pumpkin pie itself. and far more likely to give you salmonella.

and not so far back in time when it was mine and jon's birthday. he was having a milestone bday so i didn't want to steal too much thunder. just a little thunder.

How Candy Corn is Born

I just ate my weight in candy corn and mallowcreme pumpkins. Like I do every year around Halloween. And after Halloween, of course, when the bags are 50% off.

It's a rainy gloomy day and perfect for watching Bravo's 100 Scariest Movies Marathon all day long with zero guilt. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.

i got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday so i would expect a few percocet-induced posts within the next couple of days.

And probably the most bestest time to go looking for ugly cakes! Pretty much any cake meant for Halloween is supposed to be ugly, so this will be a good month for us here at Ugly Sheet Cake. Ironically I'm going to start with a not so ugly sheet cake per sey, its one found by Harlot Fevah and it kind of boggles the mind how much icing is used on this busy cake. It probably weights 12 pounds.

but its still pretty neat how they have a sort of 3-D effect going on and even though its kind of busy it is quite esthetically pleasing.

and another fine effort by maims, not found by maims but actually BY maims. one of a jillion practice wedding cakes. way to utilize the uglies!

so i must have killed about 64 frogs on my way home from class last night. something about the warmer months and the rain make them come out of the swampiness or whatever and sit in the roads. i'm talking a massive ammount, too many to possibly avoid, turning my car into a veritable killing machine. sometimes there's a big one and i see i'm rapidly approaching but theres nowhere to go and i'm all, "nooooooOOOOOOOOO" and then a poping sound.
